{"id":278,"date":"2022-09-13T12:19:58","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T12:19:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irwbresearch.wp.worc.ac.uk\/?p=278"},"modified":"2022-09-14T10:13:49","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T10:13:49","slug":"appointment-of-new-ambassadors-of-the-childrens-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irwbresearch.wp.worc.ac.uk\/index.php\/2022\/09\/13\/appointment-of-new-ambassadors-of-the-childrens-alliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Appointment of new Ambassadors of the Children\u2019s Alliance\u202f"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Children\u2019s Alliance emerged from \u2018<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.waterbabies.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Water Babies<\/a>\u2019, an\u202forganisation aiming to\u202fgive all\u202fyoung\u202fchildren access to the nurturing impact and confidence&nbsp;of water time.&nbsp; In\u202fseeking\u202fto\u202fhelp\u202fchildren from early years\u202fthrough to\u202fyoung adulthood, <a href=\"https:\/\/childrensalliance.org.uk\/\">The Children\u2019s Alliance<\/a> extended this\u202fchildhood-centric orientation.&nbsp; With&nbsp;the adage\u202f\u2018it takes a village to raise a child in mind, the Children\u2019s Alliance has collaborated with a range of\u202fcommitted specialists and\u202fpractitioners\u202ffrom a variety of backgrounds,\u202fto explore how best to improve the quality of\u202fchildren\u2019s lives.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For children throughout the UK,\u202fthe Children\u2019s Alliance has\u202fcreated information-rich sources and facilitated evidence-based knowledge exchange, to influence community and national practices enabling children\u2019s development.\u202fIt is through this medium\u202fPamela and Alison have joined forces with peers to ensure that challenges\u202ffaced by children,\u202fwhich detract from their living healthy and happy lives, are identified and addressed.&nbsp;Pamela and Alison have contributed towards the development of four\u202fpublished reports:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Children&#8217;s Alliance (September,&nbsp;2022) <a href=\"https:\/\/childrensalliance.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Family-and-Community-Report-Childrens-Alliance-Sept-2022.pdf\">Family and&nbsp;Community<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Children&#8217;s Alliance (July,&nbsp;2022).<a href=\"https:\/\/childrensalliance.org.uk\/working-group-reports\/\">\u202fThe Mental Health of Children and Young People<\/a>.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p><p>Children&#8217;s Alliance\u202f(October,&nbsp;2021).<a href=\"https:\/\/childrensalliance.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/WG1-EarlyYears-Oct2021.pdf\"><strong>\u202f<\/strong>The Health and Wellbeing of Children in the Early Years<\/a><\/p><p>Children\u2019s Alliance (December,&nbsp;2021)<strong>.<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/childrensalliance.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Physical-Health-of-Children-and-Young-People-Report-Dec2021.pdf\"><strong>\u202f<\/strong>The Physical Health of Children and Young People<\/a>.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u202ffirst aim of the reports is to\u202fbroaden politicians\u2019 awareness of the health and wellbeing issues currently facing children in the UK\u202f(such as,\u202fdetrimental impacts of inadequate physical activity, poorly recognised or inadequately supported mental health issues, or socio-economic and cultural inequalities).\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second aim of the reports is highlight the need for a\u202fministerial position dedicated to the health and wellbeing of children\u202fand young people.\u202fThe culmination of the\u202fwork undertaken\u202fprovides\u202fa policy template that is proof positive of\u202fthe Children\u2019s Alliance\u202fcontention that the new Prime Minister should appoint a\u202fcabinet&nbsp;minister\u202fwith overall responsibility for Children and Young People at the earliest opportunity.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irwbresearch.wp.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Picture1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-283\" width=\"339\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irwbresearch.wp.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Picture1.png 233w, https:\/\/irwbresearch.wp.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Picture1-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><figcaption>The Rt Hon Anna Firth MP receiving the quartet of reports on behalf of the Houses of Parliament.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To this end the\u202fChildren&#8217;s Alliance Reception, hosted by the Right Honourable Anna Firth MP, took place on 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u202fSeptember\u202f2022\u202fin the Terrace Pavilion\u202fat the Palace of Westminster.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Ambassadors,\u202fPamela and Alison joined&nbsp;the throng of\u202fvoices aiming to champion\u202fviable beginnings\u202ffor every\u202fchild to experience physical, social, emotional\u202fand mental wellbeing for life.\u202f&nbsp;
